“The Lord is my…”

“The Lord is my…”. We commonly recite such scripture as the 23rd Psalm that begins with those very words. We also offer these words up in song declaring who God is and what He means to us personally.

So, I got a notion to conduct a search in the King James Version of the Holy Bible of that exact phrase to see what results it would turn up. I knew the Bible was full of such phrases and I thought it would be nice to have a list to refer to.

I found the results very interesting and highly encouraging! I will share them below in hopes that it has the same impact on you!

*Exodus 15:2 – “THE LORD IS MY strength and song, and he is become my salvation: he is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father’s God, and I will exalt him.”

*2 Samuel 22:2 – “And he said, THE LORD IS MY rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer;”

*Psalm 18:2 – “THE LORD IS MY rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.”

*Psalm 23:1 – “THE LORD IS MY shepherd; I shall not want.”

*Psalm 27:1 – “THE LORD IS MY light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?”

*Psalm 28:7 – “THE LORD IS MY strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.”

*Psalm 94:22 – “But THE LORD IS MY defence; and my God is the rock of my refuge.”

*Psalm 118:14 – “THE LORD IS MY strength and song, and is become my salvation.”

*Lamentations 3:24 – “THE LORD IS MY portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.”

*Zechariah 13:9 – “And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, THE LORD IS MY God.”

*Hebrews 13:6 – “So that we may boldly say, THE LORD IS MY helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.”

Search the Scriptures

I conducted this search online at kingjamesbibleonline.org for easy reference and then looked up each verse one by one in my own personal Bible.

May it richly bless you!
