I am new to the blogging world. I hope you will be supportive and patient with me!
Allow me to introduce myself!
I am Mrs. Garcia! I am married to my high school sweetheart, Mr. Garcia. We have 3 precious children…2 girls and a boy.
I am Christian homemaker. I’m quite often dubbed old-fashioned and I embrace that title graciously! I feel like an old-fashioned woman living in a modern world. Most of the time I feel as if I should have been born in another century! But I know and trust my God has created me for such a time as this!
I am a southern girl who loves down-home food and anything sweet! A lover of old hymns and mason jars! I love and long for the simple life. I like reading about self-sufficiency and back to basics living. I’m a country girl at heart, though currently stuck in the city! I enjoy crafting and learning lost/forgotten homemaking skills such as canning, soap making and sewing. I have a love for the outdoors. That is where I seem to feel closest to God.
As you get to know me, you will learn I am a lover of The Waltons tv show. So much so that I am sometimes jokingly called Mrs. Walton! 😉
I hope to bring some encouragement and inspiration to homemakers everywhere while simultaneously finding it for myself.
Hello Mrs. G!
This blog is great!!! The only frugal thing I have done lately is make liquid hand soap— talk about a money saver! I’m trying to save some money for ingredients for bar soap. No clothes were purchased for me for the school year — I’ll do just fine with what I have or what’s been given. God has been good to us and I’m so grateful!

Thank you so much!! It’s only just begun…I’m really new to this!
I have yet to make liquid soap. I must try my hand at it! I’ve made bar soap just recently thanks to a sweet lady at my church teaching me! Not as intimidating as I had originally thought!
Great attitude on the school clothes. You will be fine! God is great, He definitely provides! Thanks for stopping by! I hope you’ll stick around! God bless!
